Rich Clients for Web Services. This page on sun.com has a screenshot of the product of the little-known project we did with Sun last year. (So little-known, in fact, this is the first time I've seen of the final version.) It was an alternative Blogger interface, written in Java Swing and using our private XML-HTTP API (prior to the XML-RPC version).

The general idea behind the presentation—web apps that have both lightweight HTML interfaces and rich client desktop interfaces for different purposes/users—is one I like. The conlusion—that you should use Java to build the rich client interfaces—is something I have a hard time swallowing.
