So, turns out I'm going to the Unlimited Sunshine (Cake, The Flaming Lips, De La Soul, Modest Mouse...) show on Saturday in Berkeley, which I linked to a while back but, at the time, thought I might have to be out of the country, so didn't buy tickets. Now, truth be told, I'm not really familiar with The Flaming Lips or Modest Mouse, since I'm not nearly as hip as the girl I'm going with, who had the extra ticket. But I'm boning up. Thank goodness online music "trading" is still possible in a post-Napster world. (Actually, I borrowed a (copied) Flaming Lips CD, so I'm, like, totally legit there.) I'm liking what I'm hearing so far.
