I can't believe there's still argument over so-called "deep linking." When Ticketmaster first sued Microsoft Sidewalk for sending them business, I thought everyone laughed them off because they were insane. Turns out, people are still talking about this, and a publication like InfoWorld even has a policy (abeit probably non-enforced) against it. The idea that I couldn't link to an article on InfoWorld makes about as much sense to me as them telling me I can't tell a friend to read an article in InfoWorld. What it makes me want to do, though, is not ever point to an article on InfoWorld (or ever user Ticketmaster) because these policies are so maddeningly stupid, not to mention arrogant.

And another thing: It is understandable that sometimes, in certain situations, you wouldn't want people coming directly into a certain place in your site. However, there is a very *easy* way to keep people from linking there that doesn't involve lawyers: use code!
