They're tearing down a building in the heart of downtown San Francisco, across from the Metreon, that covers almost an entire block. It's on the street I walk to work on every day (well...most days). And they're actually *tearing* it down, not imploding it or something (I'm guessing it's not tall enough to collapse under its own weight with an implosion, but I really don't know diddley about such things.), so it's kinda fun to watch. The other night, there was a whole line of people on the sidewalk across the street watching the dust fly and debris fall in the lights as the Bobcats pushed it off the third floor and the bulldozers with the dentistry-like attachments poked and prodded and ripped. (BTW, here is a Bobcat for sale, in case you were needing one. $8,100 OBO. Ad's kinda old, though.) The sign says they're going to put up Moscone (ohmigod, I can't believe how bad their site is) West, which is scheduled for a 2003 completion. Yowzer.
Hmm...did I have a point? Oh yes! Today's picture, features that Bobcat -- I mean, that building.
