I just had four wisdom teeth extracted from my mouth. I'm sitting at home typing this with ice on my cheeks and a mouth full of blood. This surgery was rather unplanned. I've been needing it for a long time (which is probably always the case). They just started bothering me more than usual this week, but not super-bad. The main problem was I couldn't speak clearly (or, not as clearly as usual anyway). I thought this could be bad, especially if it got worse before PC Forum. So I called to get an apointment yesterday and, to my amazement, got in to see the dentist this morning. She referred me to an oral surgeon and, to my amazement again, got me in this afternoon (for an initial consultation). I got to the oral surgeon and said go for it. It wasn't too bad. Though I was quite nervous, the nitros kept me from freaking out. There was lots of tugging. They were quite impressed with my roots. Oohs and aahs all around. They said it looked like a calimari. And asked me if I wanted to look (having had my eyes closed the whole time). I did. And it did. Getting home was the worst part (so far). I had to first go to Walgreens and get my prescription, and then take the Muni home from West Portal (two trains, at 6pm).

That's all I'm going to say about this now. Wish me well. Please do not email me about your wisdom tooth experience unless it goes something like: I was back to 100% in a couple days. I do NOT want to hear horror stories. Expectations are very powerful, and I simply cannot afford to be out of commission for long. Thank you.
