Some dude from Alhambra water just stopped by (for the second time) to get us to switch to them from Calistoga. We told him (again) we weren't interested. He offered half price. We said we're too busy to deal with it, were moving soon anyway, etc., etc. I'm guessing he doesn't have a lot of luck trying to get companies in this dot-com neighborhood to take time to do something like saving money on their water. If you want to tap into the gold rush, don't try to do it by offering to save companies with loads of money (note, I'm not talking about my company here, but most of those he would call on around here) what amounts to a trivial amount of money. Offer them something new and exciting. Give them a way to spend *more* money -- like a juice dispenser, perhaps, like they have at HP in Corvallis, Oregon, but not in Silicon Valley.
