Last night/early this morning between my ill-fated attempts at non-sick-thrashing-about in bed -- i.e., sleep -- I finished the latest from Doug Coupland (who has a beautiful, mostly unusable and completely un-content-linkable web site), Miss Wyoming. I can't say that I dug it a whole lot. Perhaps, it was partly due to devouring it right after a full helping of A.H.W.O.S.G. (see yesterday's post), which it just can't compare to in terms of originality or personal relevance for me. Perhaps it was that all of the characters seemed to be morally decayed and generally unlikable. Perhaps it was that it read like it really wanted to be a screenplay (as Matt also noticed). I've read five Coupland books and perhaps I just want another Microserfs.
