One of the problems in your door dilemma is that you may not be familiar
with the customs regarding doors in other cultures. For example, in your
post you state that someone was asking you to "unluck a door." Apparently,
you may have sneezed, scratched your nuts, or something else that brought
bad luck upon the door - those causing it to lock. If you unluck it, the
door is again lucky - basically unlocked.

I think this is what happened to your friend who got locked in the
bathroom. My guess is that he didn't wash his hands after dropping the
kids off at the pool. Thus, unlucking the door and locking it.

I am sure this is covered in a Feng Shue book somewhere.
