The discussion software at eCompany Now is brain damaged, I fear. I got an email from them saying, "EVHEAD posted a message to you in the Business Forum." This did not mean, as you might suspect, that I posted a message to myself. It actually meant someone named "E. S. Mathews" posted a message in reply to mine. When I try reply to his message in the forum, I get a "Seamless Registration Error":

If you have reached this page, there has been an error. It is possible that your bookmark for eCompany that you used to get here has expired and needs to be refreshed. Please click here to login once again at eCompany.

First of all, I didn't get there via a bookmark; I got there by clicking on the reply link on the previous page. Secondly, when I "click here to login once again," I get the same page (over and over). So, I can't reply to this E. S. doofus, who wrote:

Perhaps you should consider Cold Fusion, Microsoft's ASP, or even PHP as an alternative to the problem. Putting any strain on the client is asking for trouble. Server side is the way.

To which I want to reply:

WTF? Server side is the way to rich client-side GUIs? Are you even paying attention to the topic of conversation here?

But then, I would have been much nicer if I were replying in the public forum. Ahh, the beauty of having one's own rant space. (Hey, that's not a bad domain name. Oh boo, taken.)
