Wow, I had no idea Lucent was so messed up (not that I would expect to, since I wasn't paying attention). This Forbes piece, Save Lucent? Don't Bother, paints a pretty grim picture: "When Henry Schacht took over Lucent Technologies as interim CEO in October, one of the first things he did was try to sell the golf course. The fact that it even had a golf course to sell, let alone one in which it had invested $40 million, was yet another example of the sloppy thinking that had turned the once-successful networking company into a market pariah." Geez, money can sure make companies dumb.
