So much for that theory

So much for that theory. Just this morning, while walking to work, I had the thought that one benefit of wearing a bright orange jacket (I was wearing a bright orange jacket at the time, thus the thought), is that you're perhaps less likely to get run over -- something I'm always wary of, especially around SOMA, where I walk a lot and see multiple cars run every red light, routinely ignore crosswalks, and pull out of alleys looking only one way (if that). A couple hours later, while walking to get some food, still wearing my bright orange jacket, I came a hair's breath from getting my legs taken out from under me. A careless Accord driver, coming out of an alley, was seemingly oblivious to the world around him. He only stopped after coming so close that I slapped the hood of his car in a move to both wake him up and push myself back out of his way. Maybe I need to get a jacket with a horn built in.
