On Media Matters on KQED right now: "How well do networks like CNBC or CNN/fn cover the business world? How well did they cover the dot.com boom, and did they ignore signs of the coming bust? Some believe that a combination of inexperienced reporters and a reliance on commentary by financial analysts with a stake in the market make much of TV business reporting seriously flawed." When questioned about the media's role in the bust/boom and their broadcasting of biased information from so-called analysts, a guy from CNBC said, "It didn't occur to me that anyone was sitting at home watching, thinking this was unbiased advice. Obviously, it was self-interested!" Wow.
