O'Reilly Software has a new feature for their WebBoard discussion forum product, called HostMaster. HostMaster lets you do virtual hosting for different discussion forums with different domain names. Not terribly exciting or original (though, I'm sure, it's a major request of WebBoard users). The interesting thing is that this add-on feature, which they call a "product," costs $2299. That's significantly more than WebBoard costs itself (not a bargain at $1799). The pricing strategy intruiges me. I wonder if their customers are very happy about it.
